Can we enter these on the same system as the Bloomfield tower on the 106/197?

Well, I added these 2 to the Bloomfield system. I'll see how it it goes if the tower is not too far from my antenna.

Project Completion Date

I picked this tidbit out of the linked article in the Community News forum about Joplin's comms after the tornado.

This is the first hint of a completion date I've seen on this project.

"The network will be complete, 114 counties and the City of St. Louis, by December 31, 2012," said Steve Devine, SEMA's interoperability program manager. "And at that point, you'll be able to be anywhere in the state talking to anyone else who's on your talk group no matter where they are in the state."

You will be able to - provided that talkgroup is enabled for all towers.

And that has been the completion date for quite a while now.

Is Sikeston PD using this system very much yet? There was a murder there this afternoon and I didn't hear them at all. As a matter of fact; I haven't heard anything on it since they blew the Birds Point levee.

They use it for some encrypted stuff but day to day use is not there. I'm wondering if it normal to take 3+ months to get one site up and running. Most use by Sikeston is still on the Bloomfield Tower but most days there is no activity at all on MOSWIN. Maybe they are going to install several towers before any testing will be done on this system?

I am currently receiving the MOSWIN (SYSID 3F8) Sikeston tower control channel on 774.53125. The alt control channel is 773.78125. The 155.7150, 159.2100 control channels for the site are NOT being used at this time. Showing a CWID of WPTZ785 on 769.65625 also. Using a PSR 500 and Pro96COM software.

I thought it was it supposed to be a full VHF-HI system from the beginning.

The low band will not be used for dispatch after the new system is in place.

When it is brought up it is stated that the low band will still be around for the foreseeable future in some capacity.

Here's what I found... I saw on the FCC application page that in Bloomfield, Stoddard County, had their low band frequencies deleted from the MSHP's tx tower there... just a lil bit of info, kinda interesting how they're getting rid of it, while the new frequencies are coming to life!! I'm getting really excited, and wish it could hurry up and get up here in the NW corner of the state!!!!! The frequencies being deleted are both dispatch side, Sheriff's Net, PD Mutual Aid, and two others which I assume are Car to Car or something...
