I'm really surprised that with the number of Michigan users here on the board, especially those near/around downriver that nobody has posted a thing about the DMA and its faulters over the past month.
A couple weeks back the system was totally down, no control channel, then for a while the system was in site-trunking, or all the centracom computer-dispatch consoles were down, but the consolettes were ok and used for dispatch.
Today, the system went down again, for like the 5th time this month (being June still) about 10 minutes before that storm passed through, and just a few minutes ago I got the site trunking beeps on my radio for an instant.
I don't know what the heck is going on and I know it's not my radio since all the users have switched to "DMA TA3" and other non-trunked conventional channels programmed into their radios. While I'm unsure of the frequencies and names, I do know that it's conventional repeater access and direct talk-around in both digital and analog. I figure every city either has their own frequency or perhaps all the PDs have their own channel, all the FDs another, etc., I'll figure it out if the system keeps going up and down!
Regardless, does anyone know what's going on? The system has been giving great service for the past 4 years or so, I've been listening in for three years now and have never experienced any of the issues the users are currently dealing with.
