Ronnie ~ That RS store that had the 2 bad Pro-2096's just needs to send them into repair (and should have by now). I'll bet the manager is waiting until next year to send them into repair, because his store
actually has to eat the cost of RS branded repair costs. He probably is lQQking at his year end bonus and thus watching his P & L, and is choosing to eat the repair costs this next year. If I were that manager, I would just byte the bullet and get them fixed ASAP so they can be sold at a higher price rather than letting them devaluate MORE and loose MORE money as the clearance price will keep dropping by the month !!! A bad LCD 2096 repair I recently send in cost my store just over $135-ish and
that one stuck in clone mode ... if it were me 1st I would try initializing it and also try using WIN96 to perform a load and see if that would work some magic? I work for RS and have always wondered why
we don't have repair privileges with GRE, Inc. ? My guess is that RS waives the GRE warranty in order to
get a better cost ? Any repairs of name branded products like Motorola, Sony, Canon, Casio, etc. we
have a process called RMAC ( Return Merchandise Authorization Code ) and presto the defective or
returned product is handled and doesn't cost the RS store anything.
Alan- I see you have both the PSR-600 and Pro-197 ... any comparative opinions so far ?
Myself, I just bought a Pro-106 and will be tackling that little monster very sQQn

)
What software do you use .... WIN500 or PSR-Edit ? I will use WIN500 to support Don

)
ps ~ I share Mike's opinion - I too doubt any more Pro96 or Pro-2096 units will received by Radio Shack!
Hmm, but you never know ... maybe RS or GRE might dig around in the basement and find more ?
