When foreign heads of state visit a major city, who's in charge of the security? I would assume the primary responsibility would be the foreign dignitary detachment of the U.S Secret service, right? I am near Seattle and they of course get visitors from all over the world. I'd like to monitor the goings on with the security details,if possible .

anything related is going to be encrypted......your best bet is to listen to local unencrypted tac channels, who usually give out SITREP's... Ie . King county sherriff, city of seattle, etc..

The foreign dignitaries use their own people, supplemented by DSS, diplomatic security service, which is similar to USSS,except it's a branch of the department of state...

When the Brits are in town they normally bring a portable TETRA repeater.

I wonder how they coordinate that. As far as I know TETRA operates on 400MHz so who's frequencies do they use? Don't they run the risk of interfering with other services?
