When I get my Pro-96 does it have to be updated?

I bought a Pro-96 a couple of days ago, and it works fine.
But in a few areas, you might need the firmware upgrade.
Where are you located?

So someone who lives near you needs to tell you whether public safety agen cies near you are using radio technology that needs the firmware upgrade.
