Which scanner is that? I don't know they've even announced such a beast.

There is no new base digital scanner by Uniden to come out this year from what I have read.

We all have to wait for the base version of the BCD396T to come out. Who knows how long that will be.

Maybe just maybe that is what Uniden is going to be introducing at Dayton.

Uniden knows that BIG BUCKS are to be made with the base version of the BCD396T.

They will want to sell the handhelds first. Let's see what happens with this.

I think it's more of an issue of needing their resources to make the handhelds. The bases will be easy once the handhelds are available. You have to remember that this is the most significant change in scanner design since they did away with crystals.

I would expect a base version of the BC246T much sooner than the base version of the BCD396T. The base version of the BC246T may be what wil be released at Dayton.

Well it had better be something good since that is the only reason I will be in Dayton this year at $25 a ticket

You make a good point, Voyager. It only makes sense that the base model of the BC246T will follow. Uniden must have problems keeping up production for this scanner.

A lot of people will be happy to get the base model because they don't care to use a handheld. It just depends on what a person likes to use.
