Where can I find laws regarding radio operations in Guatemala?

I have a friend who's family runs a farm in Guatemala. They are interested in using portable radios and came to me.

My only issue is I do not know what the laws are. Are there frequencies open to just use, do they need a business license (even if it is just a family operation), power limits, things like that. I'm not sure if anyone here knows anything about that area or could point me to where regulations might be posted.

Thank you in advance.

Your friend needs to contact a lawyer in his area. No body on radioreference should give you legal advise, nor should you take if - be smart.

To be fair if I was asked that about the US, I would say CB could be used, or for more features (such as PL or repeaters) use GMRS for family or business band for business (in which case I would recommend they talk to FIT or something).

All do respect I'm not sure this requires a lawyer.

I said what I said.

You came to a forum to ask who are mostly USA and UK/Europe instead of going to google.

Rather than spend big bucks on a lawyer, how 'bout contacting the agency that handles communications in Guatemala. i.e., their equivalent of the FCC?

Or try this: radio licensing in guatemala - Google Search
Yeah I'll probably just do that, I was hoping someone on here might already just know lol. It appears to be Superintendency of Telecommunications, and it appears I can call them but not email them, so this is out to be a fun one.

I did go to google first, but perhaps because I didn't google in Spanish, I did not find very much information regarding this matter lmao. Infact even googling it now, this post is the first result.

I'm going to see what I can figure out and I'll share the results here for future googlers.
