Where can I get a BC 796D?

My 785D is broken and at Uniden for repair; scheduled to be shipped back by 11/18. I am addicted to my scanner. Of the retailers I know of and trust both Grove and Scanner Master are out of stock and don't know when the next shipment will arrive. In fact, Scanner Master now has posted no more until January.

My question: Where can I buy a 796D, in stock, in the same price range as Grove and Scanner Master for a comprable price?

In MS, you could probably have one ordered through the DUAL franchise Electronics shops like the one in Brookhaven. Or maybe even Circuit City. Otherwise you most likely will have to order it online from iether the ones you mentioned, or directly from www.uniden.com

There used to be an electronics shop on Terry Road that specialized in Uniden Scanners, but I think they went out of business.

wow. That is a bad case. Ya cannot wait seven or eight days for it?

Why don't you go out and buy a case of oil, an oil filter, new spark plugs and wires, air filter, and a new serpentine belt and spend your time giving your car a tuneup while you wait?

With the money left over from what you would spend on another 785D, send it to me.

I got mine on EBay, from a place called Trityra Direct. I paid $497 for it plus shipping and they shipped it quickly. My only complaint was that they responded very slowly to e-mail, but that was not really bad considering the price.

If you havent found one yet, Check Ham Radio Outlet. I was at the store today and picked up one and they had more sitting there. That is Ham Radio Outlet San Diego. The general web site is www.hamradio.com
