Where does abq get their radios?

I'm knew to trunking radios but i travel to abq and santa fe a lot... i own a few Motorola's (2 HT1000's 1 MT2000 1 MTX8000 [don't know what to do with it] 2 HT600's a P200), a pair of Kenwood TK-290's and an icom IC-F11

But i'm still stuck in the conventional world and maybe I'll find a tutorial that explains trunking in depth soon for a noobie like me, since i'm really interested in learning about trunking, I don't know a darn thing about trunking right now but I'm still 16 and wanna learn.

I'm thinking of purchasing an LPE-200 That's provoice capable soon from M/A Com (the late comnet-ericsson <--I liked that lable better for some reason ) but anyway, where does the apd/bcso afd/bcfd get their equipment at?... most of it (apd's radios) still says ericsson but i've seen 2 or 3 that say M/A Com so I guess they'll all start looking like that soon, I was thinking of buying one from the same dealer that the apd gets em from (instead of flEabay], but... i don't know who it is, can anybody help me out?
The thought crossed my mind that they might get em from M/A Com Directly since they're such a big customer.
I don't know of any M/A Com dealers in NM.

I know a lotta you guys on this board have LPE's with option 29 (I've done some reading) so where'd u get em, I'm open to suggestions in case i change my mind about paying brand new dealer price. :lol:

Most large entities, Albuquerque and the County included, have direct contracts with MaCom direct. If they need radios or equipment, the Radio shop contacts the MaCom factory direct and orders what they need direct from the factory in Virginia.

Your best bet is Ebay...but are you sure you want to spend what it takes to go provoice? Most LPE's are going for $800 and on up, and then you need to find a charger, and the programming equipment. It ain't cheap, but if you want to monitor, you have to find a provoice capable radio, as there are no scanners capable of monitoring provoice.

Well, There's one on ebay right now going for 350$ but it doesn't have a batt/charger although it does have option 29 (provoice) onboard but I'm low on funds right now so I'll keep checking for a better deal... at least with a charger/bat, then I'll ask around about getting the ProGrammer™ Software the LEGAL Way

Start Saveing your pennies.......programmer is about $2500.00 8) But it will at least program ALL of the current model radios, unlike /\/\ stuff.
