Put yourself in Uniden's shoes for a minute. Would YOU want to follow up a seriously bugged unit (the BC898T) with ANOTHER seriously bugged unit? I think they are taking the extra time to try to make sure this one is right rather than develop an image of putting buggy products out there just to get them on the market. I applaud Uniden for taking the extra effort.

If you read the owner's manual, you will see that this unit is VERY SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT than ANY previous model, and there is even more of a chance for new bugs to show up in new designs. It has new features and manages channels in a completely new way.

I for one wouldn't blame them for taking a few weeks extra to debug the unit - especially given the recent criticism for the 898T bug.
