Where should I connect?

I'm a new Amateur radio licensee, old broadcaster, presently in S. Africa? I was thinking of joining an amateur radio group. This forum? I am involved in a broadcast station in Anchorage. ??

If you are in Anchorage the Anchorage Amateur Radio Club would be a good choice. Although I live in Southern California, I travel to Alaska (pre-Covid-19) several times a year. I joined their club even though I rarely attended meetings. Very friendly group. They have their own VEC and give frequent exams.

This forum is not specifically devoted to amateur radio although there are many threads and knowledgable people here.

You might consider joining the American Radio Relay League. Not my favorite organization, but they do many worthwhile things to promote and protect amateur radio.
