where to get scanners

hello does anyonw know where i can go to-drive to purchase a digital police scanner other than radioshack. in newjersey . i would be coming from de side, looking for some new places to go look around at. anyplaces out there say around 20 miles from bridge. thanks for any help

I'd look for Ham radio stores and stores that sell CB equipment. RS seems to be the last consumer electronics store that still sells scanners.

Theres a place in Red Lion Burlington County off Route 206 called White Dotte Communications. Its also an ice cream stand! But they have the BCD396T (which they are selling cheaper to try and get rid of) and the 996T. I don't think they have the PSR-500 or 600 but you could call and ask! Good luck. Hey even though this is the NJ forum there is a place right in Claymont, DE right off 95 called R&R Communications. I got my 396T there real cheap a couple of years ago. The good thing about buying it in Delaware, no tax!

just a suggestion. if you're looking for a particular scanner,why not just order it off the web ?. scanner master among other's have very competitive price's.also if you order you're scanner out of state,you save on the sale's tax. http://www.scannermaster.com/
also,if you're in delaware or close,if you order from scanner master before 3pm,you can probably get the radio the next day.

i wouldnt bother with white dotte too much there kinda exspensive there selling the 396 t for $500,00 and the new radio the 396 xt for $600,00 and they dont have the 396 xt in stock there there only taking orders as people come in you can buy the much better 396 xt online at scanner master for only $495,00 and save like $100,00 i called them they said it only takes a day or 2 to get to youre location and from what scanner master told me there is no tax either if its coming to nj just like a 10 dollar shipping fee thats it
