Which dealers, if any, are shipping new Uniden BCD996P2 scanners with V1.04.03 firmware already installed?

I know that some dealers offer a service to update the firmware, but at extra cost.

I don't use Windows so I cannot easily update the firmware myself.

Here's an update. The BCD996P2 which I ordered from Ham Radio Outlet arrived today. It came with firmware version 1.04.03.

Another Issue you might want to consider without windows is programming. The p2 ships completely blank, and while hand programming is possible I for one prefer PC programming them.

Therefore, I modified Keith Wyatt's open source bcprogtool program to work with the new BCD996P2. That's what I use with my BCT15Xs.

I write my own multi-platform radio software. We've maintained a Windows-free life for many years now.

You just might find a market for Linux or Apple OS for a programmer for Uniden radios.
