Which One? SDS100 or 200 ?

Hi. Can you please tel me the advantage of buying a SDS200 over the 100? I figured the SDS100 is much more "Portable".

But usually, base units like the 200 have a better quality sound and specs.

So.... which is "better" ?

In my opinion, the SDS200 is better.

There are fewer reports or complaints about the 200, and it's less prone to damage since it sits on a solid surface.

Just my opinion. You can search the posts for more examples.

I have both, if you plan on monitoring in one spot, get the 200. If not, get the 100. Both great radios.

Im also looking at maybe picking up one of the SDS models. Ive heard from a few people the speaker on the SDS200 is worse than that of the 100, is that the case? I am assuming it would be quickly solved with a cheep external speaker.

I bought the SDS 100 for it's portability and I take it everywhere. I have had it for a couple years now and the only problem I had was the battery latch which was an easy fix.

I have both. The 200 has a better speaker. If you spend all your listening time in a vehicle, again, it's the 200. If you walk with it and/or don't spend much time in a vehicle, it's the 100.

Both are great scanners.
