I currently have a Radio Shack Pro 106 which is lent out to my pops to provide entertainment as he recovers from surgery.
i am looking to buy a Whistler 1088. i looked at the TRX models and Unidens offerings also. What drew me to the 1088 was its standard button keyboard and its ability to be programmed without a computer. I am not techno savvy.
I live in charlotte and would like to monitor its P25 USAI system as well as monitor the Palmetto 800 system when im in sc and local conventional 460.xxxxx frequencies as well.
It seems on the Pro 106 the sound quality of the Charl-Meck system is poor, i hear the voices but hard to discern what they say 75% of the time.
Does the 1088 have advantages over the Pro 106 or is it the same technology in a different package?
