Which type of vendor to install rooftop antenna

I live in a two story home and want to have a rooftop scanner antenna mounted, and the coax routed to my office
downstairs. Which type of vendor should I hire? Electrician? Handyman? I live in Santa Clarita, California
and would love to get some input. Thank you.

I'd check around for a TV repair shop in your area. While they are getting pretty rare with "disposable" electronics, there are some around still.
They'll have the skills to install the antenna for you.

Most electricians can do it, but they'll probably charge you a lot. Most electricians experienced in residential work won't have the tools to terminate cable for you.

Also you could check around for a local satellite antenna installation shop. The brand name installers (direcTV and the like) won't do this sort of stuff, but if you can find a local guy, they can do it.

For a scanner, the RG-6 coax used by TV antenna and satellite TV antennas works just fine. They'll be able to terminate the cable correctly, install the mast and antenna, and route the cable into your office.

I don't know of anyone specific in your area, but your proximity to L.A. should turn up something with a little bit of research.

Agree with mmckenna.

Also, make sure whoever does the install properly grounds the antenna. Often overlooked but very important.
