Whistler 1040 tones

I have had my Whistler 1040 for a while and have it programmed to the simulcast freq and works great. My bud recently purchased a Uniden and had it pre programmed. When you listen to his scanner it has the tones that you would here when listening to analog. How do you get the tones. Thank you.

My buddy purchased a Uniden and I have the whistler 1040. We live in the same city but his gets tones. How do I program mine to get tones.
