So I have all three units. All three are great radios so far. Its a give and take when it comes to each of them.
The Whistler radios hands down have the best digital decode quality out there. That is the best thing I love about the radio. But honestly the case and the buttons just feel cheaply made. Sometimes when I press any of the buttons nothing happens. I have to press harder to make it work.
But overall I do like the Uniden BCT15X and the 996XT radio. These radios are bullet proof still..
I do like the programming structure better. Easier to manage scanlists
The case is built tougher.
The antenna that comes with the radio is not flimsy like the Whistler.
The volume on and off button is better since it has a click each time to control the volume up and down.
The speaker is a higher quality and sounds better
The keypad and the buttons are built to a higher quality. Each time your press a button something happens.
Its just another radio to add to my stable. It will be great for digital decode on conventional and trunking systems. Maybe add another Yaseu MLS-100 speaker for better audio performance.
