Whistler 1080 Error Code 3.01

I have a Whistler 1080 scanner I was using in Canada on our P25 Phase 1 systems. I have an older scan disk 2GB card in the scanner. It scanner quit working when i tried to update it and lost USB connection part way through. It now shows a Error 3-01. I check and the radio showed the CPU was no longer in the radio. I've tried to format the card using the EZ app but kept getting an error it could not succesfully format. I then tried to check and update the CPU using the app. It kept timing out before the update completed. I've tried to format the SD card a number of times with no luck. any help getting this radio working again would be appreciated.

Looks like you might need a new card... see this wiki article for assistance. Good luck--should be a simple fix. I wouldn't try updating anything until you get the card error sorted.

I agree with above post. I JUST got my Pro-668 back from Whistler after having the Legacy upgrade to a 1080 done. Aside from it being $100 now I must say the technical support services were very very good when I had questions and the scanner performs very well and of course has DMR.
Anyway, I went to upgrade the library and somehow someway the MicroSD card got corrupted. No matter what I did to reformat that SD card that came from Whistler it would simply not work. The solution was to get one of my spare SanDisk 4GB cards out and use that. I went into the menu of the Whistler 1080 software and chose the function of prepare the SD card and from that point forward everything went like clockwork. The scanner is up and running and doing just fine.
