I have a Whistler TRX2 and the sound just quit working 1 day and been looking for the answer. Anyone have this problem and if u have did u find out what it was?? I appreciate it
Try plugging in headphones or an earpiece. Dirty contacts on the headphone or external speaker jack can mute the internal speaker. Try inserting and removing a plug numerous times into both jacks. It could also be dirty contacts on the removeable faceplate.
There's no sound at all, if you open squelch in analog mode and there's no key beeps? Set the headphone jack to IF out and listen with any earphones you have if there are any noise there, which would then indicate the speaker (you have checked with external speaker or earphones plugged in the external speaker jack?) or the jack itself or even the speaker amplifier could have blown.

I plugged a external speaker to the headphone jack and that works but when I plug n the external speaker to the back port it doesn't work. We opened it up and there doesn't appear to b anything wrong so I'm not sure
There are contacts in the headphone jack which close when you remove the plug. If those contacts are dirty or bent and do not make a good electrical connection, it will mute both the internal speaker and an external speaker.

Sounds like you are lucky. My TRX1 had no sound at all. Ext speaker nothing. No beeps, nothing. It scanned and stopped on TG fine.
I sent it to Whistler and they replaced "Antenna Module". Not sure how it was an issue, but I have never seen schematic for trx.
