The lightning bolt indicates a valid CTCSS, DCS or NAC code. Do you have the frequency programmed as search or with the NAC code?

On the newer Whistler/GRE scanners it is available on digital channels only, and the ARC 500 software for the GRE Pro 106 (Whistler 1040) does not have a setting that I have found.

In PSREdit500, the option to show Radio IDs is in the Other options in the lower left.

In the radio, Press PGM, then FUNC, then F3. Press FUNC then down arrow to go to the bottom of the menu, press up arrow 4 time to the "Show RadioID" option and press the right arrow until the option says Yes. Then Press F1 to save.

To alpha tag a radio, create a private object in the same system with the desired alpha tag for that radio ID.

The second and third sentences of Mikey60's message are how to do it using the radio keypad, not software.

Did you try that?

The scanner will not show RID on conventional P-25 frequencies. I have a 197 that won't show the RID's. My PSR800 and WS1088 do.
The 1040 will only show ID's on trunk system TG's.

If you are trying to get RID's on conventional, P--25, the 1040 won't do that.
If you are wanting RID's for trunk systems, in Win500, under extended settings, click on show RID's for group call. You might be missing that check mark. Remember to save your new settings and upload to radio.
