On Whistler WS 1080, when try to search for a channel not yet in the database should I use a Wildcard on a favorite list or just enter in the frequency and use a open talkgroup, Color code and slot? Using this on a DMR system. I think it would work either way but not 100% sure. Thank you group members.

The 1080 doesn't have a favorites list, those are in Uniden scanners. Using all for the CC, Slot and TG would work for a frequency. You also need to understand that Whistler scanners do not do true trunk tracking on DMR systems, they just scan each frequency in the system, but if you have it set up as a system you can also use a wildcard as the TG.

I have it setup as a system in the Trunk Tab, but when i set it up as a Wildcard I receive a channel I all ready have in my scan list. There is a different Talkgroup I can't find but it has the same frequency, so would it just be better to put in the frequency with open talkgroup, color code and slot? Thank you ...

If it's in there twice you'll hear it twice, you need to decide if you want it as a frequency or a system.

So if I put the Frequency in and have the talkgroup, color code and slot open it would display all the info I need to program the new talkgroup, color code slot off that if I left them all open when I received it on my scanner? Then if Had it on a system with a Wildcard when I receive the channel would it show me the talkgroup ,color code and slot? In you option what would be best? Thank you..
