when i turn the scanner on and it starts scanning all is fine until i push manual OR ANY OTHER BUTTON INCLUDING NUMBERS and i get G S at the top of the screen, then Heap error below that....and 26FD26 :2704 below that and it goes unoperable. Can someone please tell me how to clear that or how it happened. Ive tried everything but still get that same message no matter what button i push THANK YOU

WS1040: - Heap Error Help
Hi, I have a Whistler ws1040... Recently a heap error has appeared when I try to press any button.... Its Heap Error 266526: 266C..... Does anyone know what this is or what it means? It will not go away until I turn off my scanner and back on again... I even deleted everything off of my scanner...
So in a nutshell:
well i am not tech savvy so i have no idea how to eliminate this issue... it just started happening all of a sudden.
so im not alone...im just hoping someone can tell me how to eliminate the problem and go back to scannng

If you are using programming software (ARC500, Win500, PSREdit500), please attach your programming file so I can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.
Thank you Whiskey 3J that is all greek to me..sorry. I tried a couple things that i know of with no luck... with the G showing at the top it scans perfectly.....as soon as i go to manual for example, the error comes up No matter what button i push, the error comes up and it will not scan again until radio is shut off and turned back on I guess i will have to clear all that is programmed and start over.
Well are you using an app to program or no? If not, that could be the issue. Much easier to program via app than by hand & take advantage of your premium sub and utilize RR's web import service. See post #6, it's much easier for others to get a full picture of your programming if you post an export
i just got the cable to attach to my computer...will try # 6 when it connects..
