Very new to programming! In Polk County, Iowa, Having trouble getting police frequencies. From what I'm gathering these are in trunking systems? I've uploaded SARA Network/project 25/Phase II but still not receiving. Any help is much appreciated!

Unfortunately, the WS1065 is the wrong scanner for your area.

The SARA system, as well as your statewide system, ISICS, are both P25 Phase II systems, and all of the talkgroups are using Phase II. That's designated by the T on the mode column.

While the WS1065 is a good scanner for the systems it can monitor, including P25 Phase I, it is incapable of handling P25 Phase II. There is nothing you can do via programming, even using software, that will enable the WS1065 to work on either of those trunked systems. There are some conventional channels, on your county's database page, that you could hear. It appears that a couple of them simulcast what is actually being carried over on the trunked system, but that's only the tip of the iceberg as far as what is going on in your area.

If you recently purchased the WS1065, see if you can return it for credit. For the systems in your county, you would need one of the following scanners:
Whistler models
TRX-2, WS1095, or WS1098. The WS1095 & -1098 are both discontinued, but you may still be able to find one at one of the dealer. Or, chech the previously owned scanners in the Classifieds on this site. as well as eBay, pawn shops, and other possibilities.

Uniden models
HP-2, BCD996P2, BCD536HP, SDS200.

Thank you for the quick response and fortunately I didn't purchase the scanner 🙂. I was helping my brother in law who will be returning the scanner ASAP. Thanks again.

Good deal. Be sure to suggest a scanner that will work for his area.
