Hi, I just received a Whistler WS1065 as a gift. I'm a Mac desktop user, but I have a Dell laptop that I only use for my ATEQ TMPS tool when swapping tires.. I cannot get this Dell to recognize the scanner. I see the cable is plugged into the USB in he device list. I'm using he PSREdit500. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? PS , the directions that came with the say to use "COM Port and the PSRE... says to use direct. I tried both and nothing. THX...

If your cable has a mono adapter on the end, remove it. The WS1065 requires a tip/ring/sleeve stereo plug. Make sure you are plugged into the PC/IF jack and not the headphone jack. You need to select the com port in the software that shows in the device manager.

Thanks for the help above. It worked!! Now my problem is the database for my area, Barnstable county, MA. I can't get my town of (Yarmouth) frequencies on this list to automatically load to my scanner.

This is what I want to be added to my scanner. Without doing it manually. I have no idea on how that is done.

You said you're using PSRedit500, correct? Use Radioreference's web import function, you already have the needed RR premium subscription to do so
Yes, I did sign up for the premium subscription. It shows my county,(Barnstable) but my town is not in the municipalities of Barnstable. The screenshot in my post 3 is all I can do.Screen shot in post 4 is what I want to scan.

Not sure where you are looking, but Yarmouth does show up in the Municipalities grouping.

You need to select:
The County
Then Barnstable Agencies
Then Municipalities
And finally, Yarmouth

This is under the Conventional Channels import selection.
