And there has only been one of those dating all the way back to the beginning trx and the 1090
Whistler did their best to keep this legacy software working automatically for as long as possible and they did come up with a manual workaround that works for the vast majority of people using that software. In a contest of expectations vs reality, reality usually wins.
So Whistler ensuring that everyone is using the most up to date software is an issue? I would think that a bigger issue would be the complaints when things stop working if they didn't ensure this and people kept using outdated versions. The software is free, I could see having a problem if you had to buy a new version everytime they updated it, but not when they just give it to you.IMHO, a BIG BIG problem.

No, he was not referring to you using software from 2009-2014, he was referring to the fact that Whistler hasn't created anything original since buying GRE's intellectual property and that they are stretching the software beyond its expected lifetime.
And sorry but I am a customer support rep. We do not support DYI or changing the configuration from our setup. My boss says you break it you pay.
