Hi. I have read and studied the forums and watched YouTube videos teaching myself how to program my newest Uniden scanner. I am still having difficulty programming the local talk groups for APD. I have downloaded as much as I could figure out using the Bu-Tel software. I think I have all of Madison County entered, but I think I'm lacking the control channel for APD???? I really need someone's expertise to look at my scanner and probably reset the whole thing. Is there a scanner programming service anywhere here in Anderson or Indy?

That County uses the INDY system and alot of DISPATCH is probably on Dispatch 2 which is encryted. Also appears to have silmulcast so the 996P2 may not work well in that area. I don't have a P2 any longer or I would program it up and take a trip to see if it worked up there. What software are you using? I may be able to send a ARC file which may or may not work for that system. When you say BuTel I assume you mean ARC XT.

There are several users in your are or you could send a user your file and what you want and get the file sent back to you.

I get the same thing. I opened it as a profile and there is nothing in it. A profile is nothing more than a list of rsf files. You need to have the rsf files first to make use of a profile. That just opens a list of existing files.

It's pointing to a list of rsf files "on your computer"... rsf files don't get included with the pfl file when you take it off of your computer.

It's like taking the index page out of a book and sending it to someone..... they have directions to where the pages are in the book, but they don't have the book that contains the pages.

.

Try this, although being simulcast it still may not work on the P2. UnZip and open as a system.

I got it! Thank you so much, Ed. I have the file programmed on my scanner now and I'm listening to APD. I spent a week trying to do this myself. It was so over my head. It was easier back in the old days when all I had to do was key in the frequency codes on my Whistler, Motorola, or RCA scanners.
