What did I learn? Drink some coffee after just getting out of bed at 3 am before you read anything.

This seems to deal with the 'Secure and Trusted Communication Network Act'. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/4998

It has to do with networking equipment and not individual radios. It probably stems from the recent international security concern over the implementation of the Huawei 5G cellular network. --> CCDCOE

Our worthless government doesn’t want you to listen to them. Look at radios produced last few years as to what they can listen to. Look at the Icom 705. No mil air. Why? Before I sold mine, I emailed Icom to see why. It’s a sweet receiver. They emailed me back stating USA regulations stopped them from putting mil air on it. Was surprised Icom newest radio, 52A, actually has mil air.
