Wow.... the bands were in bad shape this morning. Only heard ONE European (a 9A) but was barley readable. I can't even hear HB9RDE who usually has a blasting signal on 17m. I did work V31MA on 17m with a decent signal and AB4WL in MS doing an NPOTA activation on 40m.

Hopefully the bands will improve later on. Or it may be that everyone is getting ready for Christmas, so they are not on the air that much.

I'll keep listening,

The only station I heard this morning without a lot of noise was 6Y6Y on 17. Good old Lester was on the beach in a speedo enjoying a 88 degree day. Must be nice!😀

Yes... heard him too, but I have already worked him twice on 17m.

Worked a station today on St Helena Island. He gave a respectable 5x5 but on my end he was booming. I really hope he confirms.😃

Propagation I suppose was very good earlier because I heard a Alaskian and a Indoisian station quite loud. I tried to work the guy in Alaska but couldn't get through the pile up.

Apparently, if you stay up half the night, good things happen. ;)

Good job gentlemen!!! I got the Maritime mobile station which counts for Pamana. I tried the south pole one and the Alaskian. Little by little I'm making Q's that I need so it's all good. If I was clever is say a time and a place I'll be on and maybe folks who need jersey can work me and I can get states I kneed like Washington north and south dackoda.

I am limited to 15m for a few days until I can get everything worked out here at the station....

I have had NO QSOs on 15m for the past six days but 15m suddenly opened briefly today and then closed.
I worked EA1ISE, W1MBB, EA7TR, and then W0RLF before the band closed...

But a little later (and still going on now) 15m opened up even more! I have worked:
NP3XF
VY5IAL/7 - IOTA DXpedition
KP4AW - Special Event station
WP4FK
PY2MF
C5YK - I found him quickly and worked him before the pileup started and before he got spotted - That was a new band and only the second time I have worked The Gambia!
HQ1LEO

So far a good day of DX despite being limited to one band!

Antenna is on my QRZ page (my call is KM4SII). It is just a trapped dipole at 20 feet.

I run just barefoot -- 100W.

My youth -- being 14 years old -- helps considerably in a pile up :)

When I am in the shack, the DX cluster is ALWAYS open. If I see something interesting spotted I try to jump on it before the pile-up gets going. Also, always listen, listen, listen... don't always rely on the cluster. Take some time to just tune through the bands to see what is out there. I have worked some surprising DX that way (see the C5YK example from earlier in this thread).

If you want any more info/ tips please feel free to ask! I would be glad to help!

Ok I have to check out your page. I only do 100 watts as well but as of yet I haven't really heard Japan or really any stations in the South Pacific. I will continue to try and maybe buy a external antenna tuner rather then rely on my rigs internal one.

The bands just keep on giving! Another great 2 hours of DX this morning. The only thing that would have made it better would be to work TL8TT. However, local QRM was covering him up :-(

Anyhow.... here is the morning's log!

IK4GRO - 15m (I gave him a 59+20 and he gave me a 59+10!)
IK4MEE - 15m
IZ4NPE - 15m

IZ4DJP - 17m
MW0VOW - 15m
G4ELJ - 17m
GM6TVR - 17m (I gave him a 59+10 and he gave me a 59+10!)
TM14AAW - 17m
EA8CTF - 15m
CT1ASM - 20m
GD6IA - 17m

The bands were great this AM... now we will see what the PM brings...

I'll just list my two best catches for the day:

VK3TJK - 20m SSB (Long Path)
S01WS - 40m SSB (Only worked S0 once before but via a remote and on 20m so this was an all time new band and an ATNO from my home QTH!)
