Who makes good scanners other than Radio Shack and Bearcat?

Actually Radio Shack doesnt make anything. They just sell what other people make. I do own both Uniden BC and Radio Shack PRO series. To me the R/S PRO series is easier to PGM and operate. Either top end requires software to PGM with ease. PGM'n manually will put you in a mental hospital. Good Luck.

To amplify and clarify what LarrySC said, Radio Shack scanners are made to their specifications by GRE and Uniden.

Godskidz,

You're not being specific at all in any posts you're making. You can just ask "Which scanner is the best" Scanners all depend on your opinion. Do you want Trunking, More than 100, 200, 500 channels, do you want a good handheld, or do you want a good base? Be more specific and i'm sure me and all of the other posters can help you out with your scanning issues.
