I'm pretty sure I've heard some sort of encryption type comm's on there current VHF system for SQ in Quebec, it sounds pretty much the same as what RCMP stuff in Ottawa, full staticy sound.

I'll believe that when I see it. Or hear it, I guess. :)

Rumors about SQ going encrypted have been around for about 10 years. So far, nothing.

I'm sure SPVM will end up on a new system, but I will be surprised if it is encrypted. If they get sucked into an EDACS system, it could be ProVoice, which might as well be encrypted as far as civilians are concerned since you can't receive it. My guess is a P25 system with some groups encrypted but not all.

Of course, in VHF days, SPCUM's "INFO" channel (154.2200) was "encrypted" by transmitting an audio tone over the mobiles so that you couldn't hear private info being run ... and then the dispatcher would read it back to the cars. :)

I can hear some VHF and UHF from Mt.-Tremblant over a path of over
100km. That site is very high!

There is some LTR with voice inversion on 423.8625; is that possibly PD? I didn't find anything matching on Infoscan.

Also, FD seems to be on 151.700 repeater (clear).

Dave

Hi Dave, Here's what I found from Infoscan site and Industry Canada site:

Infoscan :
FD ID is CIH442 with TX at 151.4300 MHz and RX 155.0700 MHz and CTCSS 100.0 Hz

Industry Canada : TX at 151.700000 and RX at 155.070000 for MONT-TREMBLANT - MRC DES LAURENTIDES - SERVICE PREVENTION INCENDIES 1111 CHEMIN DU LAC COLIBRI, MONT-TREMBLANT - CIH442

As for the PD (St-Jovite and Mont-Tremblant PD) it is 154.0250 MHz with analogue speech inverter.

The LTR system is in the 800 MHz over there and is mainly use by the Ski resort

According to Industry Canada and Infoscan here are all the frequncies for the LTR system ID VEF317

857.262500
857.562500
857.812500
858.087500
858.337500
858.837500
859.087500
859.537500
860.012500
861.187500

And TG's

1-05-011
1-05-021

1-09-003
1-09-021
1-09-031
1-09-041
1-09-051

423.8625 MHz is SRAD communications inc. and the ID is CIQ567

While we're at it here's the ambulance freq :152.0750 74.4 Hz - AMB GILLES THIBAULT INC
MT TREMBLANT - Québec

All of the above are from my DB, the Industry Canada DB and Infoscan site DB - I am too far from Mont-Tremblant 's site (125 km +) to validated any of these, but were validated by a good friend of mine who stayed on site last fall - please understand ... and enjoy. I'll be in that area next week for 2 days for work but the wife will be there which means not a lot of ID search and scanning :(
