So that I can update the wiki for the TRX-1 and 2 correctly, does this update grant the ability to

a. Trunk NexEdge (4800 or 9600)
b. Trunk IDAS Type C
c. Trunk IDAS Type D
d. Receive IDAS multi site conventional

Thanks...Mike

Hello,

I can usually tell NXDN by ear, but there is a simple way to tell if it is Type-C or Type-D trunking.

Type-C (think Continuous) will have one repeater that is continuously active as a control channel, much like a P25 trunked system.

Type-D (think Distributed) will have at least one repeater that transmits a data burst every couple of seconds, much like a Analog LTR system. Voice and control channel info can be carried simultaneously on the same repeater. Home and Collect repeaters have data bursts, but other repeaters might not have data bursts.

Type-C is associated with Kenwood NexEdge Trunking and Type-D with Icom IDAS Trunking. Kenwood and Icom now support the other's trunking system.
