Why CC only?

If you have a large system with a lot of different sites, you can just program in the appropiate CC for each of those sites rather then all the frequencies. It saves your scanner's memory and when driving around you don't have to switch sites or systems manually, the scanner will just find a CC and roll with it. Pretty handy if you ask me.

It also doesnt require you to keeping the updated freq channels every time that the site changes its freq

It depends upon which scanner, but since this is in the Uniden forum, yes by selecting CC only.
