I searched and could not find it so I will ask you guys.I live in St.Joe county a simulcast hell hole and have a 5 bar tower reception on my 436 and it sounds like crap most of the time but when I put in Elkhart countys site a listed non simulcast site that I get a 1 to no bar site reception the scanner works great in auto and manual site settings? The only problem is I get drop out calls sometime and I think some would say you pick it up better because its non simulcast but if thats the case how does Elkhart countys site pick up St.Joes site so well? Thanks

It doesn't. It picks up the radios that affiliate with it. All county tgs are set with an 2 county surrounding area use. In other words the home county and the 8 to 10 surrounding counties sites.
