Why does my BC246T keep cutting out?

Just curious if anyone else has this issue:

Every few seconds, my scanner cuts out for about a second/half a second. It makes it difficult to follow conversation, and getting crucial information such as hearing addresses, dispatch locations, etc.etc.

It does it with any type of antenna, batteries, or location. (IE, it'll do it even if I have a clear line of sight to the the person transmitting)

Any ideas of why this might be happening, or is this a common occurrence in all radios because of trunking or something?

Is your "Close Call" on by chance?

Nope. It was off, and all bands are set to "off" as well. I'm really stumped, and it's got to the point of wanting to sell the radio and get a Radio Shack Pro-96.

How about Priority, is it on?

If it is cutting out every 2 seconds on all channels, you have Close Call turned on.

If it is cutting out every 2 seconds only on conventional channels, you have Channel Priority turned on.

If it is cutting out every 5 seconds on all channels, you have WX Priority turned on.

If it is cutting out every 5 seconds on all channels, you have WX Priority turned on.

That was the problem, and I have NO idea how or why it would have been turned on.
