Pro-668: Why does my local police station have a busy sound?

Had my RadioShack pro 668 for a while now but haven't used it for quite some time. Had a flash flood in my area and seen the local police and fire up the street from my house. So I pulled out my scanner and I was able to get to hear the fire frequency but when it went to the police frequency it had a busy signal playing instead of hearing what the police was saying. Any thoughts on why this is happening and how can I fix it?

Nope. Wouldn't be much point in securing communications if there were a way around it.

If you complain on these forums about it maybe the YPD Chief will hear you and switch their comms to the clear.

If your scanner is hanging up on the encryption/busy signal, you can set it to be silent instead.

Under Advanced Features, Audio Options, Encrypted Digital Audio Settings, change the Audio Mode to "Silence".

I don't see that option available on the Radio Shack PRO-668 iScan software but it is available on Whistler EZ Scan. My error! The Advanced Features tab was not enabled on my software.

Pro tip: Any time you see an uppercase E in the mode column this signifies full time encryption. Had it have been ID'ed P25e (lowercase e) this would denote partial encryption.

Thank you for telling me about the upper case e. I did see it and didn't know exactly what it was. I didn't get a chance to see in the guide what it stands for.
