Why Doesn't This Work?

Here's the deal. I have my Pro-95 tapped, and have T4Win installed. I have tried several cables, and several different inputs and I can't get T4Win to start decoding. I can get all kinds of nasty noises through the speakers on the computer while parked on the control channel, and get the full radio system through the speakers when scanning on the trunked system. It is a small EDACS system, buttloads of traffic and buttloads of talkgroups. Maybe i'm missing something, so here I ask...

When you "Start" do you get decode activity, should see the waves in the window at the bottom right?

If it is doing nothing, but you can produce the sounds in the speakers....Wait.... You are using the "Recorder" volume controls and not the "Playback" volume controls I hope. Let's check.

Assuming you are using the "LineIn" jack for the sound card (which you should be using BTW), get the "Volume" Conrols up and then on the "Options" menu, Click on "Properties" then choose the "Recoding" radio button and click <OK>. Here you "Select" the "Line-In" and set the vol about midway. Open up T4Win and see if you get stuff then.

Are you running Windows 98 by chance? At one time I recall having to download an updated version of a "dll" to get T4Win to work. This may not be the problem, it may well have been fixed, but the symptom was the same i.e. everything apparently set up OK and plugged in but no decoding. Maybe Rick will see this and pop in to suggest something.

Okay... I changed the scanner to FM mode (duh...) and now i'm getting SOME activity. It doesn't produce any waves in the bottom right, just a little variance from that line... The radio tried to decode, but bounces between LTR and MOT, when i'm trying to scan EDACS... I farted with all of the sound controls, from low to high, and still nothing. . . Any more ideas?
