There's a few videos I have watched where the SDS100 went blank or flickered, but their users could still see the screen. Why do they do this? Is it a frame rate issue?

It's likely a conflict between the camera and the display being "out of sync" with each other. It's like trying to film an old CRT TV.

Either speed up or slow down the shutter speed. Most "point and shoot" users, I.E. the common man don't know how to do this anymore, and is considered a lost/fine art...Let the photographers/videographers do what they're paid to do. Not everyone was meant to be one. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it is the truth.
