Why is the USCG landing in Eagle?

That's right almost forgot high altitude training at the taxpayers $$, and Lake Dillon is pretty close by afterall.

Well, where are they supposed to do high altitude training? On the coasts?
For what it's worth, the Coast Guard is responsible for any and all "navigable waterways" in the country,not just the "coasts".

High altitude t/o and landings would be a LOT more fun in summertime. They probably had standard performance table conditions.

Raise your hands if you're actually qualified to second guess how the USCG conducts it's pilot training.
