Why No adio-MDT Transmissions,different areas in Philly

time to time ill catch jband or a district dispatch advising No Radio or MDT transmissions in the x hundred block of xx street,usually followed by an alls clear a short time later..

now ive been places where CBs would have to be shut off due to there being blasting near by..but im pretty sure theres no New earth moving of that scale in city limits..

any thoughts?

If they run voice and data on tha same system, maybe the site serving the area they mention is down during that time for maintenance, etc.?

PPD has been doing this for years. It means there is a bomb threat in the area.

Ahh,,yeah,,the bomb threat was the first thing that popped into mind,,

with that said,,it Is interesting how often it occurs,,and is unfounded,,or at least not reported on -officially-
by PD or media...
