I have almost all the HAM repeater freqs for the state of AR. Why isn't there a category for HAM freqs in each state. Even per county? Can I submit them per county or is rr database not for HAM freqs? I am not a HAM operator but like having the freqs in my scanner just in case there is bad wx I can jump over to the HAM repeaters in that county and listen in. Thought maybe the info could be helpful to others.

Not true; all ham repeaters are licensed, and can be traced via their callsigns. However, coordination is quite another issue. There are so many coordinating bodies that it would be nearly impossible to keep it all straight.
Besides, sites like the well known ARTSCI (and the ARRL which has been selling their directories for many years, amongst many others) do a pretty decent job of keeping their records straight.

IMHO I don't think they belong here.

Why? This is Radio Reference.com HAM Radio frequencies are part of the radio world.

I'll PM the moderator who inputs the info in the Arkansas section and get his feedback on the subject. I have no problem submitting info on a county by county basis.

Trying to keep up with all ham repeaters would be a daunting task. However, in my neck of the woods, some are already listed. Makes sense to concentrate on ones used for emergencies (ARES etc.), SKYWARN and the like.

I meant that the channel itself isn't licensed in the frequency specific sense that commercial and public safety repeaters are. Today's WBxABC repeater on 146.000 might be on 446.800 tomorrow. However, we're both right.

It's hard enough for dedicated repeater coordinators and those who publish repeater guuides to keep their data current. There are resources for this that are better than RR ever could be.

The policy of this site (per blantonl), is that we only include Skywarn and emergency management amateur repeaters in the database. That's just the way it is.

Limit your submissions to Skywarn, ARES and RACES repeaters or simplex freqs. Don't send in the MARS or CAP ones least we run afoul of the FOUO policies of the individual MARS and CAP organizations.

MARS = Military Affiliated Radio System
CAP = Civil Air Patrol
FOUO = For Official Use Only (I think)
