why not the same reception

i have a pro 2096 and a pro 96 both programed for hamilton county ( cincinnati ) using the same win 96 program, i have seperated the systems by district and a total seperate bank for cincy and yes its set as a a closed system but tonight the 2096 was picking up the cincy system on the county fire bank ( tg only not text ) but the pro 96 was not, i remember the 2096 did have a glich with the codes so close but why isnt the 96 doing it also

please tell me if i got this right as long as the S.A.M.E codes are entered in you do not need to have the weather as PRI set

If you want to scan and listen for weather alerts at the same time, you will still have to have a weather channel set as the priority. The S.A.M.E decoder is a dedicated function. If you set it to alert for S.A.M.E codes, it won't allow you to scan and if you have it set to scan, it won't allow you to decode the S.A.M.E codes.
