• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Im in Delaware County and I have a RS Pro-94 that picks up most everything fine but a lot of times the response to the first call is static even if its on a frequency I just heard a call on.

Is there anyway to keep that from happening?

It could be a lot of things. If you’re listening to a. repeater frequency like the main Sheriff freq or the Trunked system the repeater may be getting a weak signal from the mobiles (BSUPD has trouble when inside some buildings). Not a whole lot you can do about these. On simplex frequencies like VHF fire or EMS the mobile must be close to you to hear them

On your side the location of your scanner. You may find a better “hot spot” if you try different places around your house. If you don’t have one, an out side antenna should help with the simplex freqs.
