Narrowspaced D N R is not simulcast of KA4273

No, from what I have heard it is not a simulcast of the Green Blue Yellow White or Brown (repeaters) or Red (fire) or Purple (wardens).

What type of communcation are you hearing?

I know in West Central WI, the old frequencies are still active with fire spotting activities. I will have to punch in the new ones and see if anything is active in this part of the state.

I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping the new DNR frequencies would be digital.

The DNR does have some digital. I haven't heard any digital yet on DNR tho.

They have authorization for narrowbandwidth digital on a few frequencies.

It appears the new DNR freqs aren't being used in this part of the state. The ARC250 has been monitoring the new and old DNR freqs the past 42 hours and has only logged a few hits on 151.400 146.2.

I have heard that they are not as active in all parts of the state and much of the activity on the narrowspace channels is more geared toward forestry operations, but this does NOT mean that that is the ONLY usage.

I heard one of these (not sure which one) saturday while doing a general scan. Some mention of a camper with the reply "I'll be there later today".

Probably a Park Ranger, since they deal with the campgrounds.

The new Kenwood portables are P25, and I think the new Kenwood mobiles are too, but whether they are using them on P25 channels is beyond me. Our scanner at work is analog only, and I'm too lazy to program my XTS

and we are sure this is not just overload from 151.160 and 151.355 or other adjacent licenses? Most scanner recievers are not narrow enough to notice a difference. I heard planes on 151.160 all weekend.

It looks like you were right about 151.1525 146.2 PL, Karl. The ARC250 logged a few hits on that frequency and tone.
