Waiting patiently for the fix noted below.....would be really great to have it before this weekend so the rest of us can start playing ;-)

We will have a fix. I've been testing an early version and it worked on 2 dongles. I've got an outside tester who has also confirmed that he got it to work on his. So, just a bit of patience, please, and we'll get this one behind us.

Nothing installs on the computer. I do hear the tone as if it connected to the computer but no installation of anything.

v0.00 Dongle Now Works!

I just used the new v0.00.05 BCD536HP Wifi Updater and it successfully upgrade my v0.00 Dongle to v7.28.
Yesterday's v0.00.03 did not work, but I have it running now and I am connected to the BCD536HP without a problem via WIFI.

Did you already install it on the computer at a previous date? If so, you don't need to install it again - just move to the next step after connecting it.

I was successful in getting .05 to upgrade my fw 0.00 dongle to 7.28. Wi-fi running beautifully now. Great work Uniden

Note: When the updater says to wait 45 seconds, you'll wait about that much time, and then the update begins. Leave the computer and dongle alone until the message comes up that the firmware update is complete.

Ok. Happy to report success in the upgrading of the dongle. The VLC Player still throws an unable to connect error but the engineering utility seems to work fine.

UPDATE: Uninstalled, then reinstalled the VLC Player and both working....... Simultaneously!

Quick question, will we have the ability to update the dongle via the scanner sometime in the future? Just asking for those who have installed in vehicles or difficult locations. Not looking forward to taking apart my console and bringing a laptop out to the vehicle. I normally just bring in my SD card to the house for weekly updates like many others.

Dongle once v0.00 now works!!

Mine works now!! Streaming on my network and remote head working. Thank you UPMan for letting us in at this point of the development. Much closer to having a working Siren app. This will keep me contented for a while while waiting for the Android app.

Latest firmware worked great. My Wifi dongle now running 7.28 and streaming audio works great so far.

It's important to follow the directions on the webpage. The dongle's Windows driver have been updated in this release. It does take a little bit before the firmware flash begins. You should hear the USB being enumerated as the device is being rediscovered.

For those using Linux, the RH-536HP program run fine under Wine.
