I’m looking to get a P2 scanner gift for a friend in WiCo....and haven’t yet had a chance to cruise around that county and test reception. Just curious if anyone has direct experience with how well the 996P2 / 325 radios perform down there on the new county P25 system. Thanks much.

I have a 325P2. The 325 is pretty good in most of the county except at my house. I live just outside Salisbury toward Fruitland. The SDS100 is way better. I havn't been in an area in the county it does not pick up. The HomePatrol 2 is horable. The 436HP is about the same as the 325.

Can any users in Wicomico County confirm that the legacy / old SmartNet system is off-the-air? I drove through the county yesterday, and could not find an active control channel for the old system. The cch for Salisbury's (old) system was still up, but no other channels were being referenced / assigned, and I did not notice any activity on it. I'd like to submit the changes to the RRDB if anyone can confirm.

I submitted a ticket to have the Wicomico County SmartNet system removed from the RRDB - it is no longer on the air, which I verified last evening. As for out-of county reception, I start receiving the system north of the county in Bridgeville DE while driving south on US13. I lose reception driving east on US50 in the Berlin area. This is using the G5 and SDS100 with no external antenna.
