If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a XPR3500 and XPR4550 and I used to be able to key local DMR repeater I did the Hex trick to get the wideband 25 kHz using CPS 16 as had issues with local QSO on Analog repeater and only half conversation would transmit they suggested to bump to 25 khz the bandwidth and did some research and managed to change hex to 06 from 17.
I noticed now I can't hit local DMR repeater ( call group 9) Not sure if it's because weather related. But Thursday night i could do parrot and echo test. And couple days ago I was able to do local DMR HAM QSO on TS2 under local ( TG 9) wondering if the hex trick did something to my rig and Now can't hit repeater that I have a line of sight ( about 5 miles away )

I'm able to hear DMR frequencies RX only Business and local college's so I know the radio can decode DMR as I hear the traffic but hearing nothing in HAM local DMR Repeater

i can transmit and hear on DMR Amateur radio simplex If i use an HT and test. I cab hear the keying beep and my voice

But on local repeater when I key. Nothing happens i see the green LED but on the display i dont see its hitting repeater. I used to be able to head the keying beep. I can heat the keying beep if DMR HAM simplex free.

Nothing changed in the codeplug
Analog local repeater I can hit fine .
Maybe I'm getting paranoid now and regrets doing HEx trick.

If i go to repeater netwach site I see that folks hitting repeater but mostly neighbor state wide TG.

Would welcome any feedback as to my knowledge if I'm able to do a simplex TG 9 then radio is working fine.
New to DMR and it's been a learning curve. 😌

Wideband has nothing to do with DMR since it will always be narrow. Do you have a DMR ID issued by radio-id.net? It sounds like a similar issue to something one of the local hams experienced. He didn't have his radio ID programmed into the radio (just using a random number) so his traffic would only go out over the local repeater and not over the wider Internet connected network. I believe this may only apply to Brandmeister connected repeaters but don't quote me on that.

i do have a DMR ID issued from radio-id.net and as i stated couple days ago it was working fine on DMR repeater using TS 2 on Local TG 9
and i have it programmed on the HT ( XPR3500) and the Base ( XPR4550) and if i key in Simplex TG 99 i can hear it on my SDS100 Scanner as well on the HT or the Base ( i can use my HT on simplex DMR and it's Heard on the Base Rig)
trying to find out if there are any technical issues with the local repeater
also i did order a hotspot and hopefully get it next week and program it with Pistar and see if that works better Vs the local repeater

yes the hex edit has nothing to do with any transmit issues. When the last time the radios were serviced. Those are more than a few years old.

Did your DMR ID # start with a 1, & get cancelled?

Yes, Radio.id cancels DMR IDs on the BrandMeister DMRplatform if the ID starts with "1". Specifically, 7-digit personal Radio IDs starting with "1" will stop working on BrandMeister after January 1st, 2026, and may be purged sooner if inactive. This is due to BrandMeister's implementation of Mobile Country Code (MCC) numbering standards. To address this, users are encouraged to obtain a new, properly formatted Radio ID, which will typically start with "3".

Maybe the time slot is already in use, could be your admit criteria set wrong, or could be black listed.
