One of either the wiki engine or the database county names need to be adjusted in Alberta.

I was going to create wiki pages for Special Area #2 and Special Area #4 (two oddly-named 'counties' in Alberta) and the wiki links on each bring me to an empty wiki page identified as "Special Area". (Of course it's trying to head to a non-existent in-page headline of "2", or "4".)

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Special Area #2 County (AB)

That's what the link from Special Area 2 in the RRDB looks like.

I would suggest that changing the county names to remove the number sign. "Special Area #3" would also need to be edited. (In true Alberta fashion, there is no Special Area #1.) I presume this would make the wiki happy and would be the least disruptive solution.

I'm willing to bet that the pound sign is being interpreted as an escape.

I would substitute an abbreviation for the point sign (like No. or Nr.). Since it appears that you have more than 1 'Special Area', you can then construct a disambiguaton article.

The disambiguation category is reserved for situations like this- for example we have several states with the same county name, but when you try to access it from the database, the state abbreviation got dropped (very similar to what is happening to you). Here's an example, and note that it uses a template to standardize the display;

Montgomery County - The RadioReference Wiki

Make sure this disambiguation article is then tied to the Alberta article to avoid creating an orphan. I'll fix the category description later this morning after I finish errands.

A bit sloppy but it will work

An even better solution is to remove the pound sign entirely, as I suggested above and in the Mantis ticket I created after I remembered my Mantis login.

I have no interest in fiddling with the wiki to make things work. The "wiki" button on the RRDB page for each county in Alberta (and I'm sure this is similar for all other counties in the DB) points to a wiki page named "CountyName_County_(AB)", and there's no need for me to mess with that system via disambiguation pages or other such stuff. Just fixing the county names (which are being interpreted as trying to go to bookmarks '2', '3', and '4' on a page named "Special Area") in the RRDB will be fine.
