Wild Land Fire Near Lake Oroville, Butte County

Fire started just before 3pm in the Feather Falls and Berry Creek area. One home had been destroyed and 3 others are threatened. 230+ acres. 30% contained. Origin of fire is off Craig Access road in the ridge between the south fork and middle fork of the Feather River in the foothills near Lumpkin Road. If the fire jumps the middle fork of the river it could threaten up to 50 homes. Precautionary evacuations for Cochise Rd, Crystal Ranch Rd, Black Hawk Rd and Toyon Rd. 400 firefighters on scene. Cause is under investigation.
