I have purchased my very first scanner a whistler TRX-1. In our area (Crisp county in Georgia) the local police, fire etc are on a trunked system that is being updated, and the id's for the talk groups are not yet published. I would like to get my scanner to search for trunked signals so that i can record the frequencies and talk group info that i need to program (i only know this because the guy at radio shack told me that his scanner will do this.) I have been told about something called a wildcard. I know nothing (i repeat nothing) about scanners.I tried looking at the program software (EZ scan) that came with the scanner, but it isn't easy at all. In fact i hadn't a clue as to how to begin to start. Anyway i would appreciate any help i can get.
